Protection covering theft, loss and unexpected changes of plan!
With the protection package, your rented items such as skis, snowboards, helmets and boots are 100% covered every day from 8:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. covering theft and loss – without a deductible. This is especially sensible, given that rental items are often mixed up or stolen in the ski area and at aprés-ski activities.
Cost of the protection package: Flat fee €18.00.
Advantages of the protection package:
- Complete coverage for theft and loss between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Avoid deductibles for a damage claim that would otherwise be up to €450 depending on the item.
- Simple settlement in the event of theft or loss directly via our service, including help with the police report.
Note: After 6:00 p.m. the rented articles must be stored in a storage locker or in a locked ski room. Many hotels offer monitored ski storage as secure storage options. Or use our ski storage depot!
With our “Sport Easy” cancellation protection, you are also insured if your travel plans change. The cancellation protection covers early departure, cancellations or injuries during your holiday and offers full cost reimbursement minus the protection fee.
Costs of cancellation insurance: 2% of the total rental price
Advantages of “Sport Easy” cancellation protection:
- Full reimbursement (minus the cancellation protection fee) for timely cancellation or injury-related return journey.
- Flexible cancellation options before arrival.
- Immediate reimbursement of the rental fee within 7 days upon presentation of a medical certificate.
Without cancellation protection:
Cancellations possible up to 2 days before arrival, but 15% will be retained. For early returns without cancellation protection there is a deductible of 10%, except if a medical certificate is provided.

Yes, the protection package is particularly beneficial for skiers who often store their rental equipment outside of a storage depot. In instances of theft or loss, there is zero liability instead of paying the high deductible.
What should I do in the event of theft or damage?
Report the theft or loss immediately to Ischgl Rent. We will help you report the theft and provide equivalent replacement material.
When does the “Sport Easy” Cancellation Protection apply?
The cancellation protection applies to cancellations before arrival, injury-related interruption of the trip and for early departure – all without a deductible.
